BOTD 13 and Apple TV

Well hello!

Thank you for the help with the registry question.  Your advice helped us out a ton! I will register at a couple of other places to make sure I provide variety for our guests.

Sorry I’m late today..we woke up and headed to Home Depot to purchase some boxes for the upcoming move…which is just one week away…which means I’m having mini panic attacks every night.
I just feel like there is so much to do…and I feel like I keep forgetting something…I’m sure I am.

It’ll be ok.  Breathe.

We decided that we would get rid of cable..so instead of cable we decided to purchase Apple TV.  We have a subscription to Hulu and Netflix and figured between those we should be good to go.
Well our Apple TV came in the other day…and Mr. Roboto hooked it up to our TV this morning.
OMG it’s so awesome.  The picture quality is insane and the ease of sharing everything via HomeSharing is ridiculous.  I’ve got all my music available through my TV.  And, Mr. Roboto says there’s a way to make my TV my computer screen.. WHAA!?
I’m loving it!

Here’s the bargain of the day.

We had cable for about 6 months after we got married, then decided to give that up in favor of Netflix and Hulu–in 2 1/2 years we haven't looked back! We have an antenna for the basic channels so anything we're actually home for during the airing time, we can usually watch. We also got Apple TV about 3 months ago–however, a tip because this wasn't clear to us and took lots of time (resulting in lots of frustration) to figure out–you can only "make the tv your computer screen" through AirPlay, and unless you want to spend more money on more fancy programs, you can only do that if you have a Mac that's running the Mountain Lion OS. If you don't have that and you're willing to spend more $, try airsquirrels.com/airparrot/ . My husband's favorite use of AirPlay is to watch baseball/football games (we grew up in Denver so are Rockies/Broncos fans, but live in Kansas City now), and I use it to watch a few shows that are on hulu but can only be watched on the computer. Good luck, enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Anna Lynn,
You are my go to girl!
Mr. Roboto found Airplay on his computer, but mine won't work with it so I bought Airparrot. We are watching Doctor Who right now! I'm loving Apple TV.
    Thanks again!

Haha, same was true with us–hubby had it, I did not! Rather than buying AirParrot though, hubby and I just trade computers for a little while if I want to watch something I need airplay for. That rarely happens though…most of my stuff is on hulu for TV. ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad I could help!
