Take a Closer Look at my Snowy Day resource

Hi everyone!

I am teaming up with some great teacher bloggers to bring you another Take a Closer Look blog hop featuring one of our favorite December/Winter Themed productsWe want to give you a closer look and a FREEBIE from the unit to try out with your class.

I wanted to give you a closer look at my Snowy Day .

a snowy day

How much do you love the Snowy Day?  It’s one of my favorite books and fits in so perfectly during our Winter study unit.  These New England students can really relate to all the fun Peter has in the story.  We read this book as part of our Ezra Jack Keats author study.  Peter is a character that appears in many of Keat’s stories and the Snowy Day is a perfect introduction to his character.

Here is a Closer Look at the Unit!

These are the snowball sounds activities…Students match the picture to the beginning letter sound on a snowflake.  There is also a recording sheet included.

This is one of three word searches included in the packet.  They range in difficulty so you can choose the one that suits the needs of your students.

This is a sample of the vocabulary cards/puzzle that is included in the packet.  The cards include words featured in the story and work as a great vocabulary reinforcer for our ELL population.

This is a sample of one of the graphic organizers included.  This is to help students describe Peter.  This works perfectly as a character study.

Like it? Love it?
Gotta have it?

And now, I’m sending you off to another amazing freebie!
Hope on over to my my pal Angela’s blog at The Daily Alphabet.
