Well Hello…

Hi Y’all!

I’m finally back to blogging!
There are tons of pictures to share and tons of stories to tell…So grab your coffee, get comfy, here we go…

About a week before our wedding, I got a call from my aunt letting me know my grandma was in the hospital.
She had tripped and broke her hip.
My grandma is my best friend.  We really understand each other…and have always been an outlet for each other.  I was devastated.  Both my grandma and grandpa were to walk me half way down the aisle…
Well long story short…she got better and is healing but wasn’t able to make it to the wedding.
Even two weeks later…we can’t talk to each other about the wedding without crying.

About a week before our wedding, I noticed some unusual activities on my bank card…Almost $100 in purchases was made by someone other than myself…in FLORIDA!  I called my bank and told them to cancel my card…they then had to express order me a new card.  Turns out I was a victim of this Target mess….which at any other time might not be as big of a deal…but seriously…ALL of our wedding funds were in this account…Thank goodness it was caught and handled in enough time.

About 3 days before our wedding, I got a call from one of my best friends…one of my bridesmaids…letting me know her daughter was in the hospital.  Her 5 month old caught a virus which turned into pneumonia.  At the time, she thought she’d be able to make it to the wedding…but as we talked we knew there was nothing as important as staying with her little one as she got better.  Although my friend was unable to attend the wedding her little sweet girl is doing much better and is out of the hospital.

About 2 days before our wedding, North Texas was hit with a heavy ice storm.  It caused the city of Dallas to essentially shut down for days.  The roads were horrible…Dallas is about a 3 hour drive from Austin…so all of my family and friends who live in the Dallas area were unable to attend.

That’s all the pre-wedding drama…
At the end of it all…I had a beautiful wedding.  Mr. Roboto and I were surrounded by love and joy.  We danced, sang, and ate delicious food.  There were so many happy moments and I’d love to share a few with you.

The sash one of my friends made for my bachlorette party…I barely remember that night…It had to have been a blast.  This is the only postable picture!

These are the place cards.

This is a bridesmaids bouquet. We had our flowers done by a florist at Central Market, a local grocery store similar to Whole Foods.  The florist and I only had conversations via email and phone…she totally got my vision and the flowers were BEAUTIFUL!
These were the programs that were on placed on the seats along with a maraca (see below).  I had these printed and made at Minted.com.  I won a $200 gift card to Minted on a blog.  So awesome.
These are some of the maracas I made…It took forever to finish 100 maracas…
but I was so happy with the final result!
Here’s what every seat looked like when guests arrived.
My mom and dad walking me down the aisle.  I was wearing a cape that was my great-grandmother’s.  My grandma let me borrow it so I could be surrounded by her love…
Mr. Roboto surrounded by his groomsmen.  His brother and close friend.
Me and my girls!
The tutus matched the dresses perfectly! And it wasn’t even planned!
Me and my bestie!  Squealing!

A few first dance pics…I love these.
We danced to John Legend’s “Stay with you”.
Father-daughter dance. We danced to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t she Lovely”.
Mother-Daughter dance.  We danced to Celine Dion’s “Because you loved me”.
Mother-Son dance.  They danced to The Beatles “I Will”.
My sorority sisters surrounded me and sang our Sweetheart song.
My Texas school family sang me our school song..I was surrounded by former co-workers and parents!
The Wobble

Cake cutting and toasts.  Then my darling god-daughter made a toast…tears.

All the single ladies..for the bouquet toss.
My dad took all of these wonderful pictures.  I can’t wait to see what our photographer has…I’m trying to patiently wait.
We had a beautiful wedding.  We have such amazingly wonderful people in our lives and we were so happy to have an opportunity to share our special day with them.

There is just too much good stuff to comment in this post – the flowers, the adorable maracas, how gorgeous you look! Amazing wedding, Vera! Thanks so much for sharing your special day – it looked incredible (despite all of the craziness that happened leading up to it!)
