I'm finally back to blogging!
There are tons of pictures to share and tons of stories to tell...So grab your coffee, get comfy, here we go...
About a week before our wedding, I got a call from my aunt letting me know my grandma was in the hospital.
She had tripped and broke her hip.
My grandma is my best friend. We really understand each other...and have always been an outlet for each other. I was devastated. Both my grandma and grandpa were to walk me half way down the aisle...
Well long story short...she got better and is healing but wasn't able to make it to the wedding.
Even two weeks later...we can't talk to each other about the wedding without crying.
About a week before our wedding, I noticed some unusual activities on my bank card...Almost $100 in purchases was made by someone other than myself...in FLORIDA! I called my bank and told them to cancel my card...they then had to express order me a new card. Turns out I was a victim of this Target mess....which at any other time might not be as big of a deal...but seriously...ALL of our wedding funds were in this account...Thank goodness it was caught and handled in enough time.
About 3 days before our wedding, I got a call from one of my best friends...one of my bridesmaids...letting me know her daughter was in the hospital. Her 5 month old caught a virus which turned into pneumonia. At the time, she thought she'd be able to make it to the wedding...but as we talked we knew there was nothing as important as staying with her little one as she got better. Although my friend was unable to attend the wedding her little sweet girl is doing much better and is out of the hospital.
About 2 days before our wedding, North Texas was hit with a heavy ice storm. It caused the city of Dallas to essentially shut down for days. The roads were horrible...Dallas is about a 3 hour drive from Austin...so all of my family and friends who live in the Dallas area were unable to attend.
That's all the pre-wedding drama...
At the end of it all...I had a beautiful wedding. Mr. Roboto and I were surrounded by love and joy. We danced, sang, and ate delicious food. There were so many happy moments and I'd love to share a few with you.
The sash one of my friends made for my bachlorette party...I barely remember that night...It had to have been a blast. This is the only postable picture!
These are the place cards.
This is a bridesmaids bouquet. We had our flowers done by a florist at Central Market, a local grocery store similar to Whole Foods. The florist and I only had conversations via email and phone...she totally got my vision and the flowers were BEAUTIFUL!
These were the programs that were on placed on the seats along with a maraca (see below). I had these printed and made at Minted.com. I won a $200 gift card to Minted on a blog. So awesome.
These are some of the maracas I made...It took forever to finish 100 maracas...
but I was so happy with the final result!
Here's what every seat looked like when guests arrived.
My mom and dad walking me down the aisle. I was wearing a cape that was my great-grandmother's. My grandma let me borrow it so I could be surrounded by her love...
Mr. Roboto surrounded by his groomsmen. His brother and close friend.
Me and my girls!
The tutus matched the dresses perfectly! And it wasn't even planned!
Me and my bestie! Squealing!
A few first dance pics...I love these.
We danced to John Legend's "Stay with you".
Father-daughter dance. We danced to Stevie Wonder's "Isn't she Lovely".
Mother-Daughter dance. We danced to Celine Dion's "Because you loved me".
Mother-Son dance. They danced to The Beatles "I Will".
My sorority sisters surrounded me and sang our Sweetheart song.
My Texas school family sang me our school song..I was surrounded by former co-workers and parents!
Cake cutting and toasts. Then my darling god-daughter made a toast...tears.
All the single ladies..for the bouquet toss.
My dad took all of these wonderful pictures. I can't wait to see what our photographer has...I'm trying to patiently wait.
We had a beautiful wedding. We have such amazingly wonderful people in our lives and we were so happy to have an opportunity to share our special day with them.
I am so happy to have you stop by...especially this week.
I am counting down until my wedding day!!!
I'm getting married on December 8!!!
It's been such a whirlwind of a year I wanted to make sure I shared something special during this fantastic giveaway.
You'll be receiving my Morning Work for the month of December.
My monthly Morning Work packets are a huge life/time saver for me each morning. As my littles come in to start their day, they find a sheet waiting for them. They review letter sounds, rhyming, counting, and other grade level appropriate skills. The great thing about this pack is that it gets progressively difficult as the month goes along! I hope you'll find it useful and don't worry, I've got months August-May available in my TpT store.
Only 27 days until the big day.
I'm very stressed.
I never remember my dreams...and in the past 3 days I've had two very vivid dreams.
The first was about the wedding...I was with my grandma getting ready and she kept saying I needed to change this and that...I got really annoyed.
I woke up exhausted and slightly panicked. When I told Mr. Roboto, he said he'd been having stressed dreams for a month!
We are a mess.
Last night I had a dream about being pregnant...no bueno.
I'm not pregnant...
I'm not even sure I want kids.
That dream stressed me out.
My dress is at the tailors for a some work...
I need to schedule a rental car...
Most things are finished...
but that doesn't make me feel better.
So I had a question for you TpT sellers.
How do you use the information you receive about transaction details?
TpT is awesome in that they create a spreadsheet to let you examine your sales data. I looked at mine for the past year...and I was curious as to how others look at the data.
I'm sure we are all data drunk from school related stuff..but I'd love to know how you examine the information and what you do with it after?
Did everyone else have a wacky week? OMG the kids were bananas.
I kept taking deep breaths and making sure they had plenty of opportunities to get their crazy out.
I love Halloween! The kids were so cute in their costumes. I went as the Bride of Frankenstein.
I love tutus! So comfortable and adorable!
I linked up with Farley's Currently for the month of November.
Listening: The Good Wife! I can't stop watching this show. It's so interesting. We got rid of cable and I love that I can watch season after season of shows that I like.
Loving: Yesterday and today we have had unusually warm weather. It's 63 degrees today and sunny!
Thinking: About my To Do list. I've got about 30,235 things to do. I make lists and section them off based on categories. Wedding, Life, School, TpT...I'm about to lose my mind with To Do's. And if I have to look at and decided between another pair of white heels...I swear I'm going to scream. Only 36 more days to go!
Wanting: Sleep....sleep. glorious sleep.
Needing: A few days off. I just need a 4 day weekend to get everything done on my to do list. Maybe a 5 day weekend...6 days would do it for sure.
A yummy pin:
I used to make this yummy rosemary bread regularly. I make small batches and give them to friends/family for Christmas. Here's the link http://www.ahintofhoney.com/2011/04/rosemary-olive-oil-bread/
Only 41 days until the big day!
I'm so excited and for the most part very ready.
I have to get my dress altered and find some shoes for Mr. Roboto...
but other than that, I think we are ready!
Time is going to fly by...and I might not do a great job of posting regularly, but I promise to try.
I have finally implemented my small groups using my SMALL binders!
The kids are loving them. I'm loving the organization.
Can I just say Jan Richardson is a genius! Her book really helped me have effective small group time. I am still having 15-20 minute small group sessions..which is too long in my opinion...but I think as I get better with skill practice, I can improve my time.
How do you run small group sessions?
Do you have a check list of skill or things to cover?
I'd love to hear about what you do.
Halloween is right around the corner...I'm so excited! It's one of my favorite holidays.
This year, I'm going as ...
The Bride of Frankenstein!
With a tutu and veil. I'm hoping it will come out exactly how I'm envisioning.
My school does a Halloween parade. The whole school walks around the bus loop a couple of times as parents cheer and take pictures. It's so much fun. I'll be sure to post pictures.
What will you be for Halloween?
Post a comment below and I'll choose a winner to receive my Halloween Vocabulary packet or Pumpkin Vocabulary packet...which will be posted tonight! Here are a few pictures:
Congrats to Kari and V! Ladies, please check your email!

Well last week was super awesome.
We went on our first field trip of the school year...
We went to an apple orchard. It was too much fun.
I've never picked an apple from an apple tree before.
It was an amazing experience and the kids loved it!
I had so much fun I asked Mr. Roboto to take me this weekend.
We only live about 15 minutes away so we got up early Saturday morning and heading out.
Little did we know there would be a huge crowd of people...HUGE.
And Mr. Roboto hates crowds...
This is a picture of us before apple picking:
I was so excited and he clearly was not...
We didn't stay long but it was still a great experience.. and we had apple cider donuts!
This is us as we left...
He was so happy to leave.
But take a look at all the yummy apples we picked.
Jameson over at Lessons with Coffee, hosts a monthly linky all about caring for and supporting your fellow educators. She has a great idea for themed boxes called Slant boxes. Each month, you sign up to send a box to a teacher and you get to receive a box from another teacher.
It's a great opportunity to get to know other teachers from all over. I was linked up with the amazing Becky from Teaching, Learning and Loving. She sent me some amazing goodies all around the theme "OMG, I can't believe I forgot..."
Here's a pic of my goodies!
Those papers in the background are personalized labels that Becky made for me!! How sweet! She even customized a page for my rainbow themed classroom!
There are cards, Shout wipes, anti-bacterial, binder clips, pens and more....
And yes, that is an empty bag of Skittles. That was my breakfast. Don't judge.
OMG! can you believe October is just days away!?
I can't believe we've been in school for a full month.
I think it might be because I have some of the most adorable kids in the world.
Next week, we are learning all about rainbows and colors.
We get it to make a rainbow hat and listen to Pete the Cat over and over and over again.
I spent most of today working on a few new items that I'd like to add to my classroom this week.
I set up the vocabulary wall in our writing center to match the theme or unit we are learning about.
We used these during our apple unit and the kids did a great job of reference the cards during their time at the writing center. Here's a pic of my vocabulary wall.
I thought it might be a good idea to have something color related at my ABC center, so I made a quick and easy color word practice packet. The kids have to spell out various color words. Then, students use the included recording page to document show their learning. The recording sheet asks for them to spell the word, color pictures, and draw a picture of something in that matching color. Here are a few pics.
